Welcome to Odyl's Gallery
When I look at my paintings, I am amazed by the evolution in my art. I had to go through abstraction. This was in fact, my own therapy. I almost lost myself, just throwing colors on canvas, mixing the colors together. But after exploring these colors and different medias, I started to paint people, bodies, reality... Skin can be purple or green, this is not the most important in fact, I let the magic of life operating.
When I look at my paintings, I forget about the colors, just the combination matters. I put layers and layers of painting until I get the right combination of colors, the right balance.
PAINTINGSSOLD

These paintings have been sold or given to friends. I realized how my painting evolved in Vietnam. The colors are brighter, the subject is mainly body. I work with knife, but brushes tend to be more present. The right balance, always.
One more thing: I use any kind of colors, except black or brown. Each time I tried to use these colors, inspiration was away!
Joséfine was the first painting I sold. A real tear, nightmare. I had to accept the separation. But now, I am so happy. My paintings live without me. The vibration of the painting is shared. The sharing of life.
Joséfine went to Tunisia, and is in Ivory Coast at the moment.

I love to paint my family. They hate that!
These paintings are all my loved ones, I cannot give them, they are part of my home.

I love to sit and watch the boys looking at the see, I dream with them, my mind wanders on the horizon of the sea.
